KATHMANDU: Jagdamba Motors, the authorised distributor of Proton vehicles in Nepal, is set to introduce Proton e.MAS 5, the country’s first rear-wheel-drive compact SUV in its segment, the company announced on Tuesday.
Built on a dedicated rear-wheel-drive platform, the e.MAS 5 is designed to offer balanced weight distribution, improved driving dynamics, greater stability and confident handling. Jagdamba Motors said those attributes make the model suitable for Nepal’s varied driving conditions, from congested urban streets to highways and hilly terrain.
The launch comes as Nepal’s electric vehicle market continues to expand rapidly and consumer demand shifts towards technologically advanced, high-performance and sustainable mobility options. Jagdamba Motors, part of the Shanker Group, said it aims to support the country’s transition to electric mobility through its nationwide sales and service network and investments in after-sales support.
Company officials said the e.MAS 5 combines technology, quality and ownership value for Nepali customers. Full details on technical specifications, key features, pricing, booking procedures and the official launch schedule will be released in the coming weeks.
