KATHMANDU: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has said the problem in the sale and distribution of petroleum products has been resolved.

NOC Spokesperson Manoj Thakur said queues at some fuel pumps were caused by low stock and that fuel from the Thankot depot has been distributed according to demand in Kathmandu Valley. “The problem seen in the sale and distribution of petroleum products has been resolved. There is no problem as of now,” he said.

Following a sudden increase in consumer volume at pumps in major cities, including the Valley, the NOC carried out on-site monitoring of several fuel stations at the instruction of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies.

Thakur added that fuel pumps in the Kathmandu Valley today collected 1.3 million litres of diesel and 1.3 million litres of petrol from the NOC depot in Thankot. More than 130 fuel pumps operate inside the Valley.
