KATHMANDU: Confederation of Nepalese Industries Young Entrepreneurs Forum (CNIYEF) concluded a high‑level interaction under the theme 'CEO’s Forum: Beyond the Engine: The Story of Nepal’s Automotive Industry'.
The programme, held in Kathmandu on Sunday, brought together young business leaders, policy experts and industrialists to discuss structural challenges and development opportunities in Nepal’s economy. Senior figures from the corporate and industrial sectors attended the event.
Panellists included Karan Chaudhary, managing director of CG Holdings and Maruti representative; Ritu Singh Vaidya, managing director of VOITH and Toyota representative; and Sahil Shrestha, chief executive officer (CEO) of Cimex Inc and BYD representative. The session was facilitated by Saket Sanghai, director of Triveni Group.
Shiny Khetan, CNIYEF’s network and communication chair, opened the programme with an outline of its objectives, followed by introductory presentations from the panellists and the facilitator. The panel discussed the complexities of the automotive sector, legal hurdles to industrial development and recent shifts in Nepal’s commercial landscape, with particular reference to implications for Kathmandu.
An open question‑and‑answer session allowed representatives from manufacturing, technology and services to put questions to the panellists on policy stability, current market challenges and the overall investment climate.
In the closing session of the event, Saket Sanghai delivered a vote of thanks, and Karvika Thapa presented a token of love to the panellists.
