LALITPUR: Patan College for Professional Studies (PCPS) plans to provide seed capital to students who wish to start their own businesses, the college announced today.

At the convocation, LBEF Group of Institutions Chairman Pankaj Jalan said the funding will be available for outstanding projects under a youth entrepreneurship development programme launched by PCPS. Graduates will also receive technical assistance tailored to their business proposals.

Jalan said the initiative aims to challenge the notion that students must go abroad after earning degrees from Nepali universities and to create employment opportunities at home.

PCPS is affiliated with the University of Bedfordshire in the UK. At a ceremony in Kathmandu on Tuesday, 32 students from the Computer Science and Software Engineering BSc 2025 cohort and 25 from the Software Engineering BSc 2026 cohort — a total of 57 students — were conferred their degrees.

Established in 2017, PCPS has grown into one of the country’s leading educational institutions. LBEF Group Executive Director Prakash Kumar Kejriwal said the group is committed to providing international‑standard education domestically. Professor Andrew Church of the University of Bedfordshire said he was pleased to collaborate with PCPS and expressed commitment to continued cooperation.
