DHARAN: Five new manufacturing facilities have been approved to set up operations at the Dharan Industrial Estate as the current fiscal year 2025/26 BS draws to a close.

The approvals follow the cancellation of leases held by long‑idle factories, clearing the way for fresh domestic investment of around Rs 350 million, Jeev Narayan Banjade, chief of the Dharan Industrial Estate office, said.

The new facilities are expected to create direct employment for about 350 people once they reach full production, Banjade added.

The newly approved manufacturing facilities are Preeti Valve and Fitting Industries, GD Steel Industries, Siddhi Vinayak Cottage Industry, JR Ventures and Surya Diamond Industries. The lease agreement for Surya Diamond Industries is still awaiting final approval from the central office.

The facilities will manufacture a range of products, including water metres and fittings, construction materials, food products, animal feed and household utensils.

Banjade said the leases of five inactive facilities were cancelled after all legal procedures, including public bidding and lease transfers, were completed. The Industrial Estate has prioritised production‑oriented enterprises to substitute imports, increase government revenue, strengthen the local economy and explore export potential. Some of the products have export prospects, he said.

Established in 2032 BS, the Dharan Industrial Estate currently houses 35 manufacturing facilities. Of these, 30 are in operation while five are being established. Together, they provide employment to around 1,000 workers.
