TikTok removes 1,961,698 videos in Nepal for Community Guidelines violations in Q1 2026

KATHMANDU: TikTok has released its Q1 2026 'Community Guidelines Enforcement Report', covering actions taken between January and March 2026 and outlining the platform’s efforts to keep the community safe and maintain a positive user experience.

In Nepal, TikTok removed 1,961,698 videos for Community Guidelines violations in Q1 2026, representing 0.4% removal rate of all published videos. Proactive removal rates from January to March remained high at 99.2%, with 86.5% of those videos removed within 24 hours. During the same period, 61,992 videos in Nepal were restored after further review.

Globally, TikTok removed 184,012,576 videos in Q1 2026, approximately 0.5% of all content uploaded to the platform. Automated detection technologies identified and removed 178,014,154 of those videos. A total of 8,838,710 videos were reinstated following additional review. The global proactive removal rate stood at 99.3%, with 94.4% of flagged content removed within 24 hours of posting.

To protect platform integrity, TikTok removed 86,288,705 fake accounts worldwide during the quarter and took action on an additional 25,764,372 accounts suspected to belong to users under the age of 13.

The report highlights enforcement trends across content formats. Video removal rates remained stable at 0.5%, while comment removal rates declined to approximately 0.2%. Enforcement on LIVE content increased, with the LIVE suspension rate reaching a record high of 2.7%.

TikTok took action on 58,207,389 LIVE sessions by issuing warnings or demonetising them, and warned or demonetised 21,966,667 LIVE creators. Following further review, 4,171,677 LIVE sessions were restored.

In a press release issued on Wednesday, TikTok said the Q1 report reflects ongoing improvements to its content moderation systems and the growing role of automated technologies in identifying violating content quickly. The company emphasised its commitment to transparency through periodic reporting.
