KATHMANDU: Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav held a courtesy meeting with Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Doha on Wednesday.
The Office of the Vice President said the high-level meeting took place at Lusail Palace in the city of Lusail.
Vice President Yadav is in Qatar to hand over a condolence letter on behalf of the Government of Nepal and Nepali citizens over the death of former Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
On the occasion, Yadav extended his condolences to the Emir, the royal family, the Government of Qatar and the people of Qatar.
He also handed over a condolence letter from President Ramchandra Paudel to the Emir over the former Emir’s death.
Yadav was accompanied by senior officials from the Office of the Vice President, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Charge d’Affaires of Nepali Embassy in Doha and other officials.
The Vice President left for Qatar on Tuesday to extend condolences on behalf of the Government of Nepal. Yadav is scheduled to arrive home today.
