KATHMANDU: Diyalo Technologies has signed an agreement with India’s Bioritin Biosciences to introduce Gen-4 nano-bio technology in Nepal for water resource protection, soil improvement and environmental management.
Under the partnership, Bioritin will supply its Gen-4 bio-products while Diyalo will manage market expansion, technology implementation, digital monitoring and project management, bringing international-standard biotechnology to the Nepali market for water body rejuvenation, industrial wastewater treatment and soil enhancement.
The companies said the nature-based system, marketed under names including Aquaritin and Bioritin, activates beneficial microorganisms already present in water, particularly diatoms. The technology is reported to increase dissolved oxygen, reduce organic pollution and odours, lower excess nitrogen and phosphorus, and gradually decompose accumulated organic sludge without large infrastructure, heavy chemical use or high electricity consumption.
Diyalo highlighted potential uses beyond river and lake restoration, including industrial effluent treatment, reduced chemical use in agriculture, soil quality improvement, management of golf courses and public green spaces, livestock farm sanitation, and conversion of organic waste into high-quality organic fertiliser.
A press statement from Diyalo noted prior applications of the technology in India, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand and the United States, citing projects such as the Delhi Golf Club in New Delhi, the Sungai Gong River in Malaysia, and Radheshyam Kund in Mathura, India, where improvements in water quality were observed.
Melina Khanal, Project Manager at Diyalo Technologies, said, “Our goal is not limited to pollution control, but to provide scientific, sustainable, and eco-friendly solutions for the rejuvenation of water resources, soil, and the natural environment. We believe this partnership will create new possibilities in the field of environmental protection in Nepal.”
Diyalo said it plans to combine modern digital tools with biological science to conserve and restore rivers, lakes and ponds of religious and historical importance, mentioning Bagmati, Rudramati and Ichchhumati as examples. The company added that the approach could offer a practical alternative for municipalities and local authorities because it requires less infrastructure, lower electricity use and limited manpower compared with conventional sewage treatment plants.
Founded in 2012, Diyalo Technologies has developed and implemented digital systems across sectors in Nepal, including smart drinking water management, water distribution automation, transport management, online bus ticketing and GIS.
