KATHMANDU/NEW DELHI: VIDA, the electric vehicle brand powered by Hero MotoCorp, has launched operations in Nepal, marking the company’s first move outside India. The entry into the Nepali market is being carried out through a distributor partnership with CG Motors, a unit of Chaudhary Group.

VIDA is introducing the VIDA VX2 EVOOTER range, comprising the VX2 Plus and VX2 Go variants, and the VIDA DIRT.E K3 youth off-roader. The VX2 EVOOTER series has been ranked highest in JD Power’s Two-Wheeler Initial Quality Study. Likewise, the DIRT.E K3 is an all-electric off-roader designed for younger riders.

Kausalya Nandakumar, Chief Business Officer, Emerging Mobility Business Unit, Hero MotoCorp, said, “This launch marks a proud and defining moment as VIDA goes global. We are thrilled to take the very best of our engineering and design capabilities beyond India, starting with Nepal, a strategically crucial market where riders are quickly adopting smart electric mobility. The VIDA VX2 EVOOTER range and the VIDA DIRT.E K3 are built to redefine the future of mobility, and through our collaboration with CG Motors, we are ensuring that Nepali customers have access to premium, reliable, and technologically advanced riding experience.”

Nirvana Chaudhary, Managing Director, Chaudhary Group, Nepal, said, “The entry of VIDA perfectly aligns with Nepal's shift towards sustainable mobility. By offering advanced electric products and solutions tailored for both everyday commuters and the next generation of riders, this product launch redefines our two-wheeler landscape. CG Motors is proud to strengthen its partnership with Hero MotoCorp and partner with VIDA to drive our nation's green transition forward.”

Technical specifications for the VX2 Plus list an 18-degree gradeability and a 4.4 kWh configuration made up of dual 2.2 kWh removable battery units. The VX2 Plus is said to deliver a 140 km real-world range, a top speed of 90 km/h, and acceleration from 0 to 40 km/h in 3.1 seconds.

Likewise, the VX2 Go carries a single 2.2 kWh removable battery, a 75 km real-world range, a top speed of 70 km/h, and 0 to 40 km/h acceleration in 4.2 seconds. Both models support DC fast charging from 0 to 80% in 65 minutes, allow home charging via a standard 5A socket, and include smart connectivity through the My VIDA app with navigation, geo-fencing, call and SMS alerts, and over-the-air updates.

Similarly, the VIDA DIRT.E K3 is offered in three adaptive sizes — small, medium and large — to suit growing riders and to maintain ergonomic support. It features app-based parental controls that limit acceleration and top speed across three speed tiers: Mode 1 (8–9 km/h), Mode 2 (17–18 km/h) and Mode 3 (23–24 km/h). The model is powered by a 350W motor paired with a 360Wh removable battery, provides up to three hours of riding time, and recharges from 20 to 80% in about two hours. The DIRT.E K3 has received the Red Dot Design Award 2025 and the CES Innovation Award 2026.

Hero MotoCorp, headquartered in New Delhi, first entered Nepal in 2014 and is expanding its footprint in the market with this electric vehicle portfolio. The company reports roughly $5 billion in revenue, operations in 53 countries, a customer base exceeding 130 million, eight manufacturing facilities across India, Colombia and Bangladesh, and research centres in India and Germany.
