Generally cloudy weather likely throughout the country: DHM

KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has said the weather will remain generally cloudy across the country today.

The Department warned that light to moderate rain is likely at some places in the Himalayan and hilly regions and at a few places in the Tarai.

Meteorologists said the country is under the influence of the monsoon system. The monsoon trough is near its usual location in the eastern part of the country and is slightly north of normal in the western part.

The Department urged people in areas expecting rainfall to remain cautious, noting that heavy rain could trigger flash floods, floods, landslides and soil erosion. It advised the public to follow regular weather updates from the Department.
