KATHMANDU: The newly launched compact electric SUV, the Proton e.MAS 5, has emerged as a major attraction at the Naima Nepal Mobility Expo 2026. It has drawn significant attention from visitors and automotive enthusiasts since the event opened.
Introduced to the Nepali market by Jagdamba Motors, the official distributor of Proton vehicles in Nepal, the exhibition, which runs from August 11 to August 16, offers customers the opportunity to explore and book the e.MAS 5 at Stall L-6, Hall B. Company representatives said the vehicle has received a strong response and a high volume of reservations since its debut.
The e.MAS 5 is the first vehicle in its segment built on a rear-wheel-drive platform, a layout that provides balanced weight distribution, enhanced driving dynamics, improved stability and easy handling. Company officials say these features help ensure a safe and comfortable driving experience across busy urban roads, highways and Nepal’s challenging terrain.
Designed to suit modern lifestyles, the vehicle incorporates three smart storage solutions: a 70-litre front storage compartment, a segment-leading 28-litre under-seat storage compartment and a 20-litre storage space beneath the centre console. Representatives say these inclusions allow users to organise everyday items efficiently while optimising available cabin space.
Additional key features include a rear multi-link independent suspension, 375-litre boot space, a 14.6-inch Full HD display unit, a 36.9-metre braking distance and a G-Traction Control System. The car also offers a 4.95-metre turning radius, a 65° door-opening angle and Vehicle-to-Load technology that allows users to power external electrical devices.
The Premium variant is fitted with an 85 kW, 11-in-1 electric motor, plus additions such as a powered tailgate and a 360° camera. The Proton e.MAS 5 is available in two variants, Prime and Premium, with market prices set at Rs 3.299 million for Prime and Rs 3.699 million for Premium.
Jagdamba Motors invites interested customers and motor enthusiasts to visit Stall L-6, Hall B at the Naima Nepal Mobility Expo 2026 to experience the Proton e.MAS 5 in person and learn more about booking options.
