KATHMANDU: More than 77,000 people have visited the ongoing NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026 at Bhrikutimandap during its first three days. The six-day event, organised by Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association (NAIMA), kicked off on Tuesday and is scheduled to run until August 16.

According to event statistics, the expo recorded over 29,000 visitors on its opening day, 26,000 on the second day and more than 22,000 on the third day. NAIMA anticipates a total turnout of approximately 150,000 visitors over the entire six-day period.

The second edition of the expo features products from more than 55 automotive brands across various stalls, with 52 new vehicle models launched so far. The event highlights sustainable, green and technology-friendly transportation systems in Nepal, showcasing newly introduced electric cars, e-scooters and electric commercial vehicles, and several automotive brands entering the Nepali market for the first time.

Visitors have shown keen interest in vehicle specifications, particularly battery capacity, motor power, range, after-sales service, warranty terms and resale value. Four-wheelers on display span a wide range of price points.

A visitor from Bhainsepati, Lalitpur, Bikram Subedi, said, “Four-wheelers ranging from Rs 1.6–1.7 million to over Rs 30 million are on display. It is a good thing to be able to ride a car according to the size of one's pocket.”

The two-wheeler section has recorded significant crowd interest, with young attendees showing strong enthusiasm towards premium brands. To attract buyers, participating companies, together with banks, financial institutions and insurance providers, are offering special deals including price discounts, one-year free insurance, one-year vehicle tax coverage, complimentary servicing and low-interest subsidised loans.

Alongside the exhibition, the NAIMA Mobility Sambaad is taking place throughout the event with participation from domestic and international experts.
