KATHMANDU: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Khadak Raj Paudel has said the government is committed to working with the private sector to develop the country’s tourism industry.

Addressing the 59th annual general meeting of the Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) in Kathmandu, he said the current administration is focused on resolving policy and structural problems that affect tourism.

Paudel said he is actively working on measures to tackle those issues and urged partnership with private firms to lead the nation towards economic prosperity.

He added that the Nepal Academy of Tourism, Hotel and Mountaineering (NATHM) plans to introduce teaching on health tourism at Bachelor’s and Master’s levels, and that the national flag carrier, Nepal Airlines Corporation, will be run under a public‑private partnership.
