Lalitpur Mayor Maharjan inaugurates park built by Embark College

LALITPUR: A public park built by Embark College in Pulchowk was formally inaugurated today by Lalitpur Metropolitan City Mayor Chiribabu Maharjan.

The park, located in front of the college premises, has been developed to add greenery and a water fountain to a prominent area of the city. The Embark College said the space is intended to provide calm and improve environmental sustainability as open areas in the valley shrink under growing urbanisation.

Asish Thakur, co-founder and executive director of Embark College, said the college took on the construction and management of the park as part of its commitment to sustainability and local infrastructure. “This will not be our only such effort,” he said. “In the days ahead, we will continue working closely with the metropolitan city on many more important projects.”

Mayor Maharjan thanked Embark College for the initiative and said Lalitpur Metropolitan City remains open to collaboration on further opportunities.

Native flowers have been planted, and the park has been designed for long‑term manageability, the college said. Representatives of Lalitpur Metropolitan City, the college’s founders, faculty members, students, parents and members of the local community attended the inauguration.
