Proton's electric SUVs attract strong interest at NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo

KATHMANDU: Proton’s electric SUV lineup attracted strong customer interest at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026, which concluded on Sunday.

Proton’s stand saw a steady flow of visitors who inspected the vehicles, spoke with product representatives and enquired about prices, ownership and booking options. The six-day expo allowed customers to experience the electric SUVs firsthand.

The e.MAS 5 is a compact electric SUV aimed at urban users. It features a rear-wheel-drive platform, smart storage solutions, a 14.6-inch display, 375-litre boot space, V2L technology and a G-Traction Control System. The model is offered in Prime and Premium variants, priced at Rs 3.29 million and Rs 3.69 million respectively.

The e.MAS 7 provides a larger SUV option for buyers seeking more space and longer-range capability. Its Prime variant is powered by a 160 kW electric motor and a 49.52 kWh LFP battery, with a WLTP-rated range of around 345 km. It also includes advanced driver-assistance technology and a 15.4-inch display. The e.MAS 7 is available in Prime and Premium variants, priced at Rs 4.99 million and Rs 5.99 million respectively.

With growing interest in electric mobility in Nepal, Proton presented the e.MAS 5 as a compact, practical urban SUV and the e.MAS 7 as a larger option for families and longer journeys.
