Dirgha Bahadur Rawal  sworn in as NRB deputy governor; assumes office

KATHMANDU: Dirgha Bahadur Rawal assumed office as the newly appointed Deputy Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) after taking the oath of office and secrecy on Thursday.

The oath was administered by NRB Governor Prof Dr Biswo Nath Poudel, and Rawal assumed office on the same day. His appointment followed a decision by the meeting of the Council of Ministers on Wednesday.

At the oath-taking ceremony, Governor Poudel offered brief congratulations to Deputy Governor Rawal and wished him a successful tenure.

Rawal brings extensive experience to the central bank. He entered the bank service as an Assistant Director on Magh 2, 2062; was promoted to Deputy Director in 2068 and to Director in 2075; and, after his promotion to Executive Director on Jestha 18, 2082, he had been heading the Bank Supervision Department.
