KATHMANDU: DEV Community Nepal will host Secure Developer Conference 2026, a two-day national technology event in Hetauda, Bagmati Province.

The conference will take place on August 31 and September 1 and is supported by the Hetauda School of Management and Social Sciences. The programme aims to bridge software development and cybersecurity for students, developers and technology enthusiasts nationwide by integrating software creation and digital security rather than treating them as separate disciplines.

The opening day, designated GitHub Conference Day, will focus on modern software development workflows. Sessions will cover Git and GitHub, open-source technologies, artificial intelligence integration, DevOps, cloud computing and developer productivity tools.

The second day, Cybersecurity Conference Day, will concentrate on digital defence. Topics will include ethical hacking, secure coding principles, cyber-defence strategies, machine learning, prompt engineering, full-stack security and career pathways in the technology sector. The schedule features practical technical sessions, hands-on workshops, career guidance and networking opportunities designed to connect attendees with industry mentors.

Hosting the event in Hetauda highlights the growing role of regional technology hubs outside the Kathmandu Valley and is expected to attract participants from neighbouring districts such as Chitwan and Birgunj. "Holding this conference in Hetauda expands tech opportunities across Nepal," said Abhishek Adhikari, lead organiser. "It provides local students and developers direct exposure to modern tools, industry practices and national tech networks."

Attendance is free, but places are limited and subject to a selective registration process. Interested participants must apply via the official event portal on Luma and obtain a confirmation badge before the conference.

Sushant Rimal founded DEV Community Nepal. The community-driven organisation works to align academic education with industry needs and has previously run training sessions, meetups, hackathons and bootcamps across the country.
