KATHMANDU: The death toll from a devastating flash flood that struck Rasuwa district on Wednesday morning has reached 162, according to Nepal Police.
Information released by the police at 5:00 am on Thursday recorded 162 fatalities following recovery operations across several districts.
Chitwan recorded the highest number of recovered bodies at 64, while 27 were retrieved from Dhading. Search teams recovered 26 bodies in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East), 20 in Gorkha, 12 in Nuwakot, and nine in Tanahun district. Two bodies were found in Rasuwa district, and two were recovered from Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta West) district.
The Nepal Police stated that 41 people are receiving treatment in hospitals across various districts.
