KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has directed all licensed payment service providers to waive maximum transaction limits on digital transfers to official government relief funds to assist citizens affected by recent floods and inundation across Nepal.
The central bank issued an official circular today through its Payment Systems Department. The decision applies to transfers conducted through mobile banking, web applications and e-money platforms.
Under the direction of Executive Director Nischal Adhikari, the NRB confirmed that the standard transaction caps specified under points 2 and 3 of Directive Number 5/082 within the Unified Directives on Payment Systems, 2082 will not apply to contributions made to designated relief accounts.
To facilitate contributions from individuals and institutions, the central bank has published the complete list of bank accounts established for both the 'Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund' and the 'Prime Minister Relief Fund'.
For the 'Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund', contributions can be made to the following accounts:

All licensed financial and payment institutions have been instructed to make immediate operational arrangements to implement these uncapped transfer facilities.
