KATHMANDU: Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) has urged businesses and the government to unite in support of flood victims following severe destruction in the Rasuwa district on Wednesday morning.
The industry body said it was shocked by the significant loss of life and property caused by the disaster, extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to those injured.
To address the crisis, the organisation has formed a Disaster Response Committee to coordinate the collection and distribution of emergency relief items. The committee is also coordinating efforts for necessary reconstruction work in the affected areas.
The CNI urged all member organisations, entrepreneurs, business executives and trade associations to collaborate with public authorities and local communities to assist with ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts.
The private sector organisation also called on the Government of Nepal to expedite emergency relief operations, healthcare provision and rehabilitation measures for those affected.
