KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) released the Current Macroeconomic and Financial Situation of Nepal, based on annual data (mid-July 2026) for fiscal year 2025/26, on Thursday.
According to the National Statistics Office (NSO), economic growth for FY 2025/26 is estimated at 3.85%.
By sector, agriculture, industry and services are estimated to grow by 1.58%, 5.67% and 4.21% respectively.
In terms of share of gross domestic product (GDP), the service sector holds 61.81%, agriculture stands at 24.03% and industry accounts for 14.16% in FY 2025/26.
The report indicates that gross domestic saving as a share of GDP stands at 9.71% in FY 2025/26. The ratio of gross fixed capital formation to GDP is 26.26%, while gross national saving as a share of GDP stands at 44.77%.
Installed electricity capacity increased to 4,120 megawatts in FY 2025/26, including 3,905 megawatts from hydroelectricity. Total tourist arrivals rose by 0.95% to 1,158,459 during the fiscal year.
