IME Khalti launches Khalti Hotels service for in-app accommodation bookings

KATHMANDU: IME Khalti has officially launched its Khalti Hotels service, enabling users to book and pay for hotel accommodation directly through its app.

The service, created in technical partnership with Sapphire Management Group, provides instant booking and payment processing for over 300 three-to-five-star hotels across Nepal. Featuring a fully automated booking process, the application issues immediate confirmations as soon as payment is verified. By allowing users to secure accommodation at their destination alongside domestic flight and bus tickets, Khalti has expanded from a digital payment service into a complete travel management platform.

Praveen Regmi, CEO of IME Khalti, stated, "At a time when domestic tourism is growing, the convenience of being able to book flights, buses, and hotels all from the same app will make the experience for Nepali travellers even more seamless. Khalti Hotels is a significant step towards our long-term goal of 'a complete journey in a single app'."

Ashish Prasai, Director of Sapphire Management Group, said, "This partnership with Khalti will give hotel operators in Nepal direct access to over 10 million digital users, while providing travellers with the assurance of reliable and verified accommodation."

Introduced under the campaign "Travel becomes even easier with Khalti," the company has rolled out an introductory promotional offer. During this promotional period, 20 winners selected through a lucky draw among customers who book hotels will receive a 50% cashback up to a maximum of Rs 1,500 per booking.

The Khalti Hotels service is accessible in the travel and entertainment section of the Khalti application, with customer support available to assist both users and hotel operators.
