Food Empire Singapore provides $20,000 flood relief via NCC

KATHMANDU: Food Empire Holdings Singapore, the producer of the MacCoffee brand, has provided relief assistance worth $20,000 for flood-affected citizens in Nepal. The support is being delivered through the Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) to provide humanitarian aid to affected regions.

Rajul Shrestha, executive committee member of the NCC and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Arksh Group, stated that Food Empire Holdings Singapore provided the assistance through the NCC in co-ordination with Arksh Group.

"As per the wishes of Food Empire Holdings, by prioritising the basic materials required by the flood-affected citizens, relief including food, clothing, and sanitary pads has been distributed in the Upper Trishuli area during the first phase," he said.

Materials worth approximately Rs 300,000 have been distributed during the first phase of the roll-out. Shrestha noted that, based on the demand from flood victims, additional essential relief supplies worth Rs 2.7 million will be dispatched to the affected areas.

According to Shrestha, arrangements have been made to supply food and other essential items by identifying the immediate needs of the affected population. The initiative aims to make essential relief materials available in areas impacted by recent flooding, including Rasuwa.
