Govt spends nearly Rs 200bn in two months of current FY2026/27

KATHMANDU: The government has spent approximately Rs 200 billion during the first two months of current fiscal year 2026/27.

According to data released by the Financial Comptroller General Office, total government expenditure reached Rs 199.83 billion as of September 16, 2026, representing 9.41% of the annual target.

Expenditure under the heading of recurrent spending stands at 9 per cent of its total budget allocation. A total of Rs 1,270.58 billion has been allocated towards recurrent expenditure for the current fiscal year.

Under capital expenditure, for which Rs 431.10 billion was allocated in the budget, total spending stands at 1.78%, amounting to Rs 7.66 billion so far.

Meanwhile, spending towards financial management reached 16.59 per cent. Out of the Rs 422.64 billion allocated under this heading for fiscal year 2026/27, the government has spent Rs 70.13 billion, according to the Financial Comptroller General Office.
