KATHMANDU: MAW Vriddhi Autocorp has launched the all-new Changan Nevo Q05 compact electric SUV in Pokhara, priced at Rs 5.199 million for the Ultra variant.

Unveiled during a grand event on Friday, the company introduced the vehicle as delivering an 'A Class Above' experience in comfort, design, and technology.

The Nevo Q05 incorporates CATL battery cells integrated with Changan's Golden Shield Battery 2.0 technology. Its 3C fast-charging system can replenish the battery from 30% to 80% in approximately 15 minutes under suitable conditions. Powered by a 120-kW electric motor that enables acceleration from zero to 100 km/h in 8.1 seconds, the SUV offers a driving range of up to 462 km under NEDC testing and 405 km under WLTPC testing, with an energy consumption rate of 12.9 kWh per 100 km. The vehicle has remained the top-selling SUV in its segment for the past five months in China.

Developed for modern families, the vehicle features a 2,735-millimetre wheelbase and an 86.6% cabin-space utilisation, ensuring seating for three adults in the rear. The ergonomic nine-layer rear seats offer two reclining angles of 28 and 33 degrees, while the cabin provides a 540-litre dual-level boot with 90 litres of hidden storage, up to 29 practical storage spaces, and over 67 sound-insulation and noise-reduction points. Specific variants also feature a 1.8-square-metre panoramic glass roof with a powered sunshade.

The exterior was developed by a team of over 915 design professionals from 31 countries, led by Klaus Zyciora, Changan Global Design Vice-President and former Head of Design at the Volkswagen Group. Inspired by the Fuguang design philosophy, it features a drag coefficient of 0.265 Cd, Digital Wing 2.0 full-width lighting signature, star-ring matrix LED taillights, and premium semi-hidden door handles. The design was named the winner of the 2026 Golden A' Design Award.

Inside, the technology package includes a 14.6-inch 1080p touchscreen powered by an automotive-grade MTK8675 seven-nanometre processor. It supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, alongside up to 18 driver-assistance functions and a 540-degree panoramic viewing system, depending on the variant.

The launch is followed by a four-day test drive event running from Ashoj 3 to 6 at the Deepal Showroom in Chauthe. The unveil event was attended by chief guest Shova Gautam, President of the Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industries, alongside former NADA President Durbha Thapa, WADA Vice President Niran KC, Deepal Ambassador Pradeep Khadka, MAW Vriddhi Autocorp Director Parth Sikaria, and CEO Gyanendra Bahadur Chand.
