eSewa launches Jatra Care festive insurance scheme for Rs 10

KATHMANDU: Digital wallet provider eSewa has introduced an affordable insurance policy, 'Jatra Care' to provide financial protection against accidental risks during the festive season. The scheme has been launched in partnership with Himalayan Everest Insurance and is available for Rs 10.

The seven-day Jatra Care initiative takes place from September 23 to 29. Under the policy, policyholders receive coverage of up to Rs 230,000, which includes Rs 220,000 under accident insurance and Rs 10,000 for hospital expenses.

Although Jatra celebrations are a time for tradition, community, and togetherness, large crowds and movement during the festivities can involve the risk of unexpected incidents. Jatra Care is intended to offer additional financial support in the event of such mishaps, allowing people to celebrate with greater peace of mind.

The insurance policy can be purchased directly through the eSewa mobile application. eSewa has encouraged members of the public to celebrate Jatra safely and responsibly while taking advantage of the cover during the festive period.
