This year auspicious hour for receiving Dashain tika determined as 10:26 am

KATHMANDU: Nepal Panchanga Nirnayak Bikash Samiti has announced that the auspicious hour for receiving Dashain tika this year is 10:26 am on October 21.

The committee said devotees can receive tika from seniors as the prasad of the goddess at the 10:26 am auspicious hour, following the immersion of the statue of Goddess Durga at 8:49 am on the same day. Those receiving the Dashain tika should face west.

Committee chairperson, Dr Purushottam Bhattarai, said that although the auspicious hour for Dashain tika has been set, people can receive tika throughout the day on Vijaya Dashami.

This year’s Dashain festival will begin on October 11. The first day of the festival, Ghatasthapana, has an auspicious hour of 11:47 am. The auspicious time for changing the flag is 10:07 am, Dr Bhattarai added.

The Pachali Bhairav procession will be held on October 15, while Phulpati (Saptami) will be observed on October 17. On that day, the auspicious hour for the Taleju Bhawani procession is set at 7:37 am, followed by the auspicious hour for Sthirasan at 10:39 am.

Maha Ashtami will be observed on October 18, with the Kalaratri festival on the same night. Maha Navami falls on October 20, preceding the main day of Vijaya Dashami on October 21.
