KATHMANDU: Mystery Rooms officially opened today on the fourth floor of Civil Mall, introducing five interactive escape-room adventures to the city.

The launch event featured Shark Tank Nepal investor Cabinet Shrestha and Mystery Rooms Nepal partners Kreeti Shakya, Manish Shrestha and Raunak Agarwal.

The live-action entertainment venue challenges teams of two to eight people to enter a themed story with a specific mission. Players have 60 minutes to find clues, solve puzzles and collaborate to achieve their objective. The new location brings India’s largest escape-room network to Nepal and meets growing demand for active, team-based entertainment among friends, families and colleagues.

The venture builds on Manish Shrestha’s work with Alchi, a brand that creates board games inspired by Nepali culture, places and stories. After pitching Alchi on the first season of Shark Tank Nepal, Shrestha used the investment capital secured on the show to launch Mystery Rooms in Kathmandu with Agarwal.

“At Alchi, we make board games rooted in Nepali stories because we love seeing people put their phones down and play together. Mystery Rooms is an extension of that idea. Instead of gathering around a board, you step inside the game. You explore, solve problems, and create a story together. I’m excited that we can now offer that experience in Kathmandu,” Shrestha said.

Although today marks the official opening, the facility began welcoming players earlier this month. The venue has already hosted more than 1,000 participants in its first four weeks and holds an average Google rating of 4.8 out of 5.
