KATHMANDU: National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) has invited proposals from partner organisations willing to build temporary housing for families affected by Bhotekoshi floods.

In a notice issued on Wednesday, the NDRRMA asked interested organisations to construct temporary housing in Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading districts in accordance with standards approved by the Department of Urban Development and Building Construction.

The proposals should clearly state the number of temporary housing units the organisations intend to build, their proposed locations and the names of the respective local levels.

The organisations must also submit an action plan specifying the expected construction start date and completion deadline.

According to the notice, organisations should provide details of any previous agreements reached for the construction of temporary housing in the flood-affected areas.

NDRRMA Spokesperson Shanti Mahat said interested partner organisations must carry out the construction work in coordination with the Department of Urban Development and Building Construction and the respective local levels.

“Interested organisations should submit their proposals to the NDRRMA within a week,” she added.
