The organisations entered the competition following recommendations from Federation of Computer Association Nepal (CAN Federation), ASOCIO’s national member in Nepal. The CAN Federation said the nominations were chosen to reflect the diversity of the country’s information technology sector.
Nawaraj Kunwar, former president of the CAN Federation and vice chairman of ASOCIO, said that taking part in an international forum such as ASOCIO was a matter of pride for Nepal.
The CAN Federation added that the international recognition could help establish Nepal as a regional digital hub and encourage local technology firms to compete on the global stage.
The summit, held under the theme 'Transforming society and industry through a secure economy, technology, and practical AI', featured panel discussions, workshops and exhibitions on topics including artificial intelligence, cyber security, digital governance strategies, startup ecosystems and talent development. Representatives from 24 Asian-Oceanian countries attended the event.
