Government to provide Rs 1.5bn grant to sugarcane farmers
KATHMANDU: The government will provide sugarcane farmers with a grant totalling Rs 1.5 billion.
Minister for Agriculture, Forests and Environment Gita Chaudhary approved the procedures for disbursing the incentive on Thursday, the minister’s personal secretariat said.
The ministry said the assistance will be distributed to farmers in Bardiya, Rautahat, Kailali and Kanchanpur districts.
The government has been giving sugarcane growers Rs 70 per quintal as an annual grant.
