KATHMANDU: Nepali Army (NA) personnel have reached areas hit by Budhigandaki flood and are carrying out search and rescue operations, the NA’s Public Relations and Information Directorate said.
Teams have been dispatched to the affected regions by air and land to assist those impacted by the flooding. So far, six people have been rescued from Jagat village, which remains at risk of a landslide.
A 'Composite Quick Response Team' from Kathmandu was flown to the flood-hit area by helicopter to support the relief effort. Local authorities are urging people living near the river and in surrounding areas to move to safer locations.
