Cloudy conditions expected across Himalayan regions, MFD says

KATHMANDU: Nepal is under the combined influence of westerly atmospheric circulation and monsoon wind systems, the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has said.

Mostly cloudy conditions are expected across the Himalayan areas of Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces, with partly cloudy skies forecast for the remaining Himalayan zones and the country’s hilly terrain.

The Tarai plains are likely to remain largely clear. Moderate rain or snowfall is possible at isolated locations in the Himalayan and hilly parts of Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces, and in the Himalayan areas of Lumbini Province.

Light rain or snowfall may occur at one or two isolated locations in the Himalayan and hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces, and in the hilly parts of Lumbini Province.
