KATHMANDU: Best Western Plus Kathmandu Hotel has been awarded the Silver Award in the Leading Airport Hotel category at the 10th Annual South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) 2026.
The award was presented at the SATA Grand Gala Award Ceremony on October 8, at the Barceló Nasandhura in Malé, Maldives. Mohamed Rizvi Hassen, the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to the Maldives, handed the award to Ashish Pant, General Manager of Best Western Plus Kathmandu Hotel, who accepted it on behalf of the hotel and its staff.
Established in 2016, the South Asian Travel Awards assesses regional tourism and hospitality businesses using a dual scoring system: 60% of the score comes from technical evaluations by an expert panel and 40% from verified online public votes. The criteria include service quality, operational performance, facilities, guest satisfaction, innovation and sustainability.
Operating under the global Best Western brand, the hotel is close to key Kathmandu landmarks, about 1.2 kilometres from Pashupatinath Temple, 1.3 kilometres from Boudhanath Stupa and 1.4 kilometres from Tribhuvan International Airport. Its facilities comprise guest rooms and suites, an all-day dining venue, meeting spaces, a fitness centre and a heated swimming pool.
Hotel management said the award reflects the collective efforts of the team and will encourage the property to raise operational standards, strengthen industry partnerships and boost Nepal’s visibility within the regional tourism market.
