CNIYEF, TSN to hold 24-hour Startup Hackathon on November 5-6
KATHMANDU: Confederation of Nepalese Industries Young Entrepreneurs Forum (CNIYEF) and The Startup Network Nepal (TSN) are set to jointly organise a 24-hour Startup Hackathon on November 5 and 6 at Kathmandu World School.
The top three teams selected from the competition will earn an opportunity to pitch their ventures to investors, mentors and entrepreneurial stakeholders.
According to the organisers, Startup Hackathon – Volume IV aims to identify innovative business ideas, technology-driven solutions and scalable startups while creating links between promising ventures and investment opportunities.
Participating teams will refine their business concepts within a limited timeframe and present them before a panel of judges. Teams will be required to demonstrate the feasibility of their solutions, business models, market demand and expansion plans.
CNIYEF and TSN said the hackathon is intended to help promising startups connect with investors and other stakeholders in Nepal's entrepreneurial ecosystem. The organisers added that the programme seeks to support high-potential startups through access to investment opportunities, mentorship and business networks that can help turn innovative ideas into sustainable enterprises.
According to CNIYEF and TSN, early-stage startups in Nepal continue to face challenges such as limited access to investment, difficulties in building market presence and a shortage of experienced mentors and professional networks. The hackathon is expected to provide a platform for entrepreneurs to test their solutions, refine their business models and engage with potential investors.
CNIYEF and TSN said their collaboration is expected to encourage young entrepreneurs and contribute to the growth of an innovation-driven entrepreneurial culture in Nepal by identifying talented founders and connecting them with investment opportunities.
The organisers have called on startups and innovators interested in participating in the event to apply through the registration channel provided for the programme.
