BANEPA, KAVRE: Traffic on the BP Highway resumed on Sunday evening after landslide debris was cleared from multiple locations along the road following days of disruption caused by incessant rainfall.

Traffic had been halted since Saturday morning after rainfall on Friday and Saturday triggered landslides at several points between Chaukidanda and Nepalthok in Kavrepalanchok district.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rabin Bista, Information Officer at the District Police Office, debris removal work began on Sunday morning with the help of bulldozers. Security personnel and technical teams were also mobilised to clear the highway.

Traffic was restored after the removal of stones, soil and mud carried by a seasonal stream in Pinthali of Roshi Rural Municipality-9, as well as the clearance of a landslide in Gimdibesi, Roshi-8.
