KATHMANDU: US Embassy Chargé d’Affaires a.i. Megan Bouldin and Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle met on Thursday to discuss US assistance committed to Nepal's flood response and recovery following the August floods.

According to the US Embassy, the United States has committed more than $36 million in assistance and is the largest donor to Nepal's flood response and recovery effort.

During the meeting, Bouldin said American companies and technology can play a role in reconstruction efforts. She also said the Millennium Challenge Compact is supporting Nepal's recovery by strengthening the country's electricity and transportation systems.

The two also discussed Nepal's digital transformation and economic reforms. According to the embassy, Bouldin said US technology can support Nepal's digital transformation reforms and that implementing business-friendly reforms can create opportunities for US companies.
