KATHMANDU: TikTok and the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) launched the #VisitNepal campaign on Thursday to showcase Nepal's culture, natural attractions and tourism experiences to global audiences through the social media platform.
The campaign was launched at an event in Kathmandu organised by TikTok in partnership with the Government of Nepal through the NTB. It is scheduled to continue until the end of 2026.
Minister for Information and Communication Dr Bikram Timilsina attended the launch event. He said digital platforms had changed how people discover destinations and added that the government viewed TikTok as a potential long-term partner in connecting Nepal's tourism, culture and young people with international audiences.
As part of the initiative, TikTok brought nine international travel content creators from Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and South Asia to Nepal. The creators, who arrived in Nepal on October 30, will remain in the country until November 7, visiting destinations and sharing content with their audiences.

TikTok also launched a dedicated #VisitNepal hashtag page for tourism-related content. The campaign includes collaborations between the NTB, Nepali celebrities and local content creators through TikTok's Collab feature, as well as livestreams from tourism destinations across the country.
Emir Gelen, Head of Government Relations and Public Policy for TikTok in the Middle East, Eurasia and Africa, said the partnership aimed to showcase Nepal's tourism potential to global audiences and support local creators, businesses and communities through digital platforms.
According to TikTok, the campaign builds on previous cooperation with the NTB, including digital storytelling workshops that trained more than 300 tourism entrepreneurs and content creators. The company said the initiative would involve government agencies, the private sector, media organisations and the creator community.
