FNCCI Senior VP Dhakal calls for national consultation to bring economy to normality

KATHMANDU: Senior Vice President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Chandra Prasad Dhakal, has called for a national consultation with the participation of all parties to bring the economy back to normality. Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the 57th annual general meeting (AGM) of the FNCCI, Dhakal said that a road map should be made through a national consultation with the participation of private sector, the government, Nepal Rastra Bank, development partners and economists in order to expedite the improvement seen in the economic indicators. Senior Vice President Dhakal opined that the government should prioritise the economy by taking the private sector along with it the central bank should bring instruments to increase liquidity in the market and reduce interest rates through a flexible monetary policy. The FNCCI Senior Vice President Dhakal also mentioned that there are five priorities for the future leadership of the federation. He said the FNCCI will prioritise the agenda of developing a strategy for solving problems of the economy by holding a national consultation, creating an investment environment, strengthening the partnership between the state and the private sector, producing skilled manpower and creating jobs, and raising the morale of businesspersons. On behalf of FNCCI, Dhakal welcomed the Prime Minister's assurance that the industrialists will be included in the state's order of dignity.
