
KATHMANDU: Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Ramesh Rijal has directed the ministry officials to guarantee that goods are supplied smoothly without any increase in prices.
During a discussion organised at the Ministry on Wednesday, Minister Rijal expressed his commitment to providing complete support and cooperation in resolving supply system issues within the country. According to him, all parties concerned can contribute to ensuring a smooth and efficient supply chain. He also informed that the ministry will facilitate the supply of essential goods.
Officials from various ministries, including secretaries of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies (MoICS) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, as well as heads of public bodies related to supply, and representatives from private sector organisations such as the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) attended the meeting
MoICS Secretary Madhu Kumar Marasini opined that the public and private sectors can collaborate to ensure the efficient supply of goods during the upcoming festival season.
According to him, the government plans to enhance market monitoring and hold discussions to address the issues that have emerged after India's decision to stop rice exports to Nepal.
