Higher freight charges and excise duty, supplemented by other additional costs incurred during the import, result in costly tiles for Nepalis, which, at times, are even beyond their reach. Keeping these in mind, Prime Ceramics is going to fulfil one-fourth of the current market demand. Domestic production ensures import substitution, reduced foreign currency outflow, local employment, and the use of domestic minerals and other raw materials to a large extent. With production at the doorstep, the company's products have the advantage of timely delivery to the customers and customised designs developed as per the requirements and tastes of architects as well as designers. Such domestic industries will not only help the end users get tiles at a cheaper price but also fulfil the common man's dream of building and owning a beautiful home. It offers a one-stop solution as sizes of tile vary, with the largest being 2ft x 4ft as well as more than 250 designs addressing the requirements of individual homes, commercial buildings, infrastructure projects, and public places, to name a few. Promoted by CMS Group and Fortune Ventures, which have more than two decades of experience in the tile business, Prime Ceramics has an investment of more than Rs 2 billion and has employed more than 300 individuals.
