Discussion on govt's policies and programmes to be held on May 24

KATHMANDU: A discussion on the government's annual policies and programmes for the forthcoming fiscal year is scheduled to take place in the House of Representatives (HoR) on May 24.

In today's HoR meeting, Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire announced that the discussion on the government's policies and programmes for the fiscal year 2024/25 has been slated for May 24, with the Prime Minister set to respond to queries. 

He indicated that the discussion will be conducted based on the representatives of political parties, and he encouraged the office-bearers of the respective political parties to submit the names of lawmakers who will present their views on the policies and programmes to the House business section before the start of the meeting. 

In addition, lawmakers who are interested in registering an amendment proposal on the policies and programmes should submit the information at the business section between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm on May 22. 

President Ramchandra Paudel had earlier presented the government's policies and programmes for the upcoming fiscal year in a joint session of the Federal Parliament on May 14.
