CNI congratulates new FHAN executive committee, pledges collaboration

KATHMANDU: Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) has congratulated and welcomed the newly elected executive committee of Federal Handicraft Associations of Nepal (FHAN)

A programme was held to welcome and congratulate the newly elected executive committee at the CNI Secretariat on Friday, where CNI President Rajesh Kumar Agrawal welcomed the newly elected President of FHAN, Rabindra Shakya, along with the executive members.

On the occasion, CNI President Agrawal stated that the handicraft industry is the country's original industry, so it is necessary to promote this sector. He said that since handicraft is an area of comparative advantage, attention should be paid to its promotion. He mentioned that the institutional objective of both CNI and FHAN is the overall development of the economy, and therefore, they will move forward in collaboration for this. Stating that the policy suggestions submitted by CNI to the Government of Nepal are study-based, Agrawal also added that the government listens when suggestions are given based on studies.

On the occasion, new President of FHAN, Shakya, expressed his gratitude for the initiative taken by CNI to increase the use of domestic goods. Furthermore, he stated that more initiatives are needed to increase the consumption of domestic goods. He mentioned that FHAN is committed to collaborating with CNI for the institutional development of the economy.

Senior Vice President of CNI, Birendra Raj Pandey, Ghanashyam Ojha, Director General of CNI, and others were present on the occasion.
