PM Oli highlights workers' role in national progress

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli said the government extends best wishes to all workers at home and abroad on the occasion of International Labour Day today.
In a message shared on social media, PM Oli stated that society has endured and the country has progressed due to the sweat and dedication of workers.
Recalling the criticism and satire he faced when launching the contribution-based social security scheme for workers a few years ago, Oli stated that more than two million workers have benefited from the scheme.
He further emphasised that the contribution-based social security scheme has secured not only employment but also the future of workers' families.
PM Oli added that these changes have contributed to the bright futures of children.
"Let’s respect labour, let’s respect workers. Jaya Shramik, Jaya Desh!" his message reads.
