KATHMANDU: Pretty Nails and The Nail Studio by Sirap organised an international nail seminar in Kathmandu from April 22 to 23.

The two-day event brought together five renowned Japanese nail artists—Haru, Miyano, Kanako, Maiko and Ohki—along with more than 50 local nail professionals.

The event, hosted by Pop Up Nepal, aimed to elevate Nepal’s nail art industry by sharing global trends and techniques.

The seminar opened with a comprehensive introduction to Japanese nail artistry, where participants learned about meticulous hygiene practices, detailed design methods and the creation of intricate handmade nail stickers. The sessions focused on nail preparation, tool care and foundational design skills, all under the direct guidance of visiting Japanese experts.

On the second day, the focus shifted to advanced, hands-on workshops. Participants practised sophisticated nail art techniques and engaged in specialised training sessions. A key highlight was a dedicated segment on the management of ingrown nails, emphasising correct trimming practices, early detection and the importance of sanitation to ensure client health and safety.

Led by Anu Amatya, Sirapa Tuladhar and Kapil Upreti, the seminar served as both a training ground and a platform for cultural exchange.

"This was more than just a workshop—it was a bridge between cultures and standards," said organiser Amatya.

With the support of Ayo, riding partner, MoleTole, food partner, and Prettyclick, the event concluded as a milestone in professional nail care training in Nepal.
