Traffic on East-West Highway disrupted as flood washes away diversion in Nawalpur

NAWALPUR: Narayangadh-Butwal road section along the East-West Highway has been obstructed after a flood-fed rivulet washed away the diversion at Dumkibas.  

According to Nawalpur District Police Office (DPO), the highway has been completely disrupted after flooding in Biyani rivulet swept away the diversion this morning.  

Information Officer at the DPO, Madhu Nepal, said that loaded and heavy vehicles have been halted at Hongshi Gate and Arunkhola areas following the collapse of the bridge.  

However, passenger and light vehicles have been redirected via alternative routes.  

Officer Nepal stated that it will take time to restore normal traffic operations on the obstructed road.
