CIT, Kailali's Godawari Municipality sign agreement for Citizen Pension Scheme

KATHMANDU: Citizen Investment Trust (CIT) and Godawari Municipality in Kailali district have signed an agreement for the operation of the Citizen Pension Scheme.
Under the agreement, a monthly sum of Rs 1,000 will be deposited into the scheme. Of this, Rs 500 will be deducted from the monthly salary of teachers and employees of Godawari Municipality, while the municipality will contribute an additional Rs 500 from its teachers’ and employees’ welfare fund.
The agreement was signed by Mayor Birendra Bhatta on behalf of the municipality and Executive Director Parbat Kumar Karki on behalf of CIT.

According to the agreement, participating teachers, employees, and the municipality will receive either a lump sum or a pension upon reaching the age of 60, based on the total amount deposited.
