KATHMANDU: Nepal Business and Disability Network (NBDN), hosted at Global Compact Nepal (GCN), organised a résumé writing workshop for persons with disabilities in a collaborative effort to promote inclusivity and capacity building.
The event was held in partnership with Ability Manch, the Disability Human Rights Promotion Society (DHRPS), and Merojob, with support from the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the United Nations Resident Coordinator Office (UNRCO), at the UN Conference Hall, UN House in Lalitpur, on Monday.

Krishna Shah, Executive Director of GCN, delivered opening remarks, emphasising the importance of creating platforms that empower marginalised communities to participate in the workforce with confidence and dignity.
Sajeena Gurung, HR Specialist at Merojob, a member company of GCN, facilitated the session. Drawing from her expertise in human resources and recruitment, she led an engaging and interactive session that demystified the art of résumé writing. She focused on building effective résumés tailored to different job sectors, using real-world examples and practical tips.
Participants were actively involved throughout the workshop, engaging in hands-on résumé writing exercises and receiving personalised feedback. They were also encouraged to present their résumés, fostering confidence in professional self-expression. The inclusive and dynamic nature of the workshop created an empowering space for persons with disabilities to both learn and showcase their capabilities.
The session concluded with closing remarks from Bhawana Majhi, Advocacy and Programme Development Officer at DHRPS. She emphasised the importance of continued collaboration among stakeholders to promote inclusive employment practices and reaffirmed DHRPS’s commitment to empowering persons with disabilities through advocacy, capacity building, and skills-based initiatives.
The workshop was part of NBDN’s ongoing capacity building programme, aimed at supporting skills and professional development for persons with disabilities. Each year, NBDN gathers various stakeholders to drive disability inclusion by hosting capacity-building programmes on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The résumé writing workshop was a key component of this broader effort, highlighting the value of inclusive employment practices and the role of partnerships in creating equal opportunities for all.
More than 30 persons with disabilities participated in the workshop.
