
KATHMANDU: United Cements and Dhunibeshi Municipality-9 of Dhading district partnered to conclude a free three-month basic and two-month advanced tailoring training programme that included a certificate distribution ceremony.
United Cements, a company under KL Dugar Group located in Jugedi area of Dhunibeshi-9, completed a free three-month basic and two-month advanced tailoring training programme for 42 local women. This initiative formed part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts in collaboration with the municipality. The objective of the programme was to empower women and contribute to their economic independence.
During the programme, Hari Kumar Upreti, General Manager of United Cements, said that the company always prioritises CSR alongside its business goals. He emphasised that such training would help women build confidence and create new income-generating opportunities.
At the training completion ceremony, Dhunibeshi Municipality Ward 9 Chairperson Madhav Prasad Silwal thanked United Cements. He expressed that the women-centred training programme would play a significant role in improving living standards and in economically empowering them. Municipality Mayor Balkrishna Acharya was the chief guest at the programme.
United Cements reiterated its commitment to continuously contribute to the fields of education, health and social services.
The training ran from December 1, 2024, to May 5, 2025. The programme concluded on Wednesday.
