On the occasion, Minister Bhandari, alongside several other guests, launched a book titled "Abhushan Vyavasayama Kanooni Vyavastha (Legal Provisions in Jewellery Business)", which outlines the essential legal and policy frameworks for the gold, silver and jewellery trade in Nepal. During the programme, FNGSJA President Kishan Sunar addressed the gathering with an overview of the current state of the jewellery business, its challenges, and the federation's endeavours, while contributors were honoured with letters of appreciation.
FNGSJA also issued an 11-point declaration as a key part of its annual work plan. The declaration calls on the Government of Nepal to issue a directive establishing standards for the production, transaction and regulation of gold and silver ornaments; to enforce the Competition Act and amend the Consumer Protection Act; to promote export industries by establishing skill development centres; and to set up quality testing centres and improve import procedures. It also advocates for amendments to existing legislation to create a more business-friendly environment and warns of protest programmes if legitimate demands are not met.
The resolutions adopted at the AGM underscore FNGSJA’s commitment to addressing challenges within the jewellery sector and promoting its long-term growth in Nepal.
